Their latest ad features all the moments Americans have missed out on due to “Trump’s virus”

The Lincoln Project released a new ad Tuesday, highlighting the president’s failed response to the coronavirus pandemic.

The ad shows all the special moments Americans have missed out on over the last year, due to the Trump administration’s mismanagement of the coronavirus pandemic. It features clips of big events, like football games and weddings, and smaller things, like first kisses, that have been put on hold.

“COVID has robbed America of so much, none of this had to happen,” the narrator says in the minute-long video. “We have suffered needlessly because Trump is a fool, a liar and a failure.”

The narrator goes on to note that other countries have stopped the spread of the virus but, “Trump refused. It’s Trump’s virus now.”

The Lincoln Project is run by Republicans who are opposed to Trump. The group regularly releases scathing ads that show how Trump has been a detriment to the country.

“We’ve lost millions of moments that make life worth living. And while people around the world are going to movies, eating at restaurants, and sending their kids back to school, Americans continue to live in purgatory,” Reed Galen, co-founder of The Lincoln Project, said in a statement.

The Trump administration responded to the new ad by saying President Trump earned 94% of Republican votes during primaries.

But that message is yet another example of how Trump has not prioritized all Americans, the Lincoln Project said.

“When it comes to handling the COVID-19 pandemic, President Trump has never truly put the American people first,” they wrote. “Come November, we’ll have the chance to begin a shared, nationwide healing by removing Donald Trump from office and electing a thoughtful, responsive leader.”
